It never ceases to amaze me that even after two degrees and countless years studying western art history, my initial reactions to various movements, styles, periods, etc. has remained the same. Some really stuck with me and I can remember almost word for word what I learned about them in class and/or in a textbook. Others I couldn't pick out of a line-up despite having studied and been tested on them innumerable times.
